Cecily Anne O’Regan is a registered US patent attorney with more than twenty years of experience in patent and intellectual property law. Cecily has a B.S. from the University of California, Irvine, a Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco, School of Law, and an LLM in Innovation, Technology and the Law, awarded with distinction, from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland). Cecily’s law practice at Buchalter focuses on securing worldwide intellectual property protection and related business strategy for emerging technology clients, with particular experience in the medical device and clean technology sectors.
Cecily combines unique legal, academic and business credentials as an entrepreneurial patent professional, with hands-on experience providing strategic, market-focused patent portfolio development and intellectual property advice for clients. She also performs patent due diligence to assess patent portfolios for venture capital investment, mergers and acquisitions, and licensing opportunities.
Cecily is a co-inventor on several patents in the field of medical device technology and software as a service, a frequent business plan competition judge and entrepreneur mentor, and a published author on intellectual property law. Cecily has also taught modules in the Silicon Valley Immersion Program and teaches Entrepreneurial Law in the MSEI program at the University of San Francisco.
Patrick T. O’Regan Jr. is a licensed US attorney. Patrick has a B.S. from Brown University, a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University, School of Law, an MBA from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), and an LLM in Innovation, Technology and the Law, from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland).
Patrick is an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco, in the School of Management. Patrick has taught courses in Entrepreneurial Management, Entrepreneurial Finance, Entrepreneurial Leadership, New Venture Launch Practicum, and Business Law and a published author on intellectual property law. Patrick also coaches a team of USF MBA and MSEI students for the Venture Capital Investment Competition. Patrick has also taught modules and mentored entrepreneurs in the Silicon Valley Immersion Program.
